NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) -
Police believe a tragic accident early Tuesday caused the death of a west Nashville man.
Officers were working an unrelated call in the area when they spotted Richard Evans, 74, beneath his vehicle in the 6300 block of Alamo Place.
Evans had apparently been performing maintenance on his PT Cruiser in the driveway when the jack he had used to lift the car became dislodged, and the car fell on top of him.
Investigators are not sure how long the body had been under the car, but they said there was no evidence of foul play.
