Decatur, Hardin counties under winter weather advisory

NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) -

The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory for two counties in southwestern Middle Tennessee until 9 a.m. Thursday.

Decatur and Hardin counties can expect periods of sleet and freezing rain as a system approaches from the west overnight that will bring rain to the rest of Middle Tennessee.

Ice accumulations up to one-tenth of an inch and sleet up to one-half of an inch are possible in Decatur and Hardin counties late Wednesday into early Thursday.

Roads, especially bridges and overpasses, could have accumulating ice in some areas of those counties.

In Nashville, expect low temperatures in the mid-20s early Thursday, with increasing clouds in the morning and rain by the afternoon. High temperatures Thursday will be in the mid-40s.

No snow or ice is expected outside Decatur and Hardin counties in Middle Tennessee.
