Nashville restaurants, chefs receive national recognition

Posted: Updated:

A Nashville restaurant and area chefs have received some prestigious national and regional recognition.

The James Beard Foundation announced Tuesday its list of semi-finalists for the top restaurants and chefs in the country.

Lockeland Table Community Kitchen and Bar in East Nashville is nominated in the category for "Best New Restaurant."

Lockeland Table joins 28 other restaurants across the U.S. up for that honor.

Three Nashville chefs have also been recognized in the "Best Chef: Southeast" category. Chef Tyler Brown of Capitol Grille at the Hermitage Hotel, Chef Margot McCormack of Margot Café & Bar and Chef Tandy Wilson of City House are among the 20 nominees.

The Nashville food scene has been recognized multiple times by the New York Times over the last year.
