A driver in Nashville was pulled over this week and charged with driving under the influence for the twelfth time.

Police spotted a suspicious car pulling out of the parking lot of Household Pawn on Dickerson Road.

After running the license plate number, they discovered it was expired, so they pulled the driver over.

The arrest warrant said the driver, Anthony Paul McGowan, was speaking with slurred speech and smelled of alcohol.

Police said the driver admitted to drinking earlier in the morning and was using prescription medication for depression.

When police ran his background, they found McGowan had eight previous DUI convictions.

According to the arrest warrant, McGowan had just dropped off a child at Baxter Alternative Learning Center before police pulled him over.
