NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) -
A large police presence responded to a south Nashville business after a man with a BB gun caused a scare of a possible sniper situation Thursday afternoon.
A witness reportedly saw the man on the roof of a building, holding what appeared to be a gun with a scope just before 3 p.m. in the 3000 block of Sidco Drive, near Armory Drive.
Josh Archer, manager of Dealers Warehouse, told Channel 4 News he was on the roof testing out a new BB gun by shooting at some small targets after work.
'It was stupid. I shouldn't have been up there," Archer said. "It was a mistake. I shouldn't have done it."
The building is in close proximity to the Tennessee Emergency Management Agency and the headquarters of the Tennessee Army Air National Guard.
Multiple police units were dispatched to investigate. After questioning Archer, he was not charged with any crime.
