Maury County authorities have a man in custody who is suspected of shooting his brother Wednesday evening west of Columbia.
The shooting was reported about 8:15 p.m. at a residence in the 1900 block of Hampshire Pike.
Officials believe Stanley Pillow, 59, shot his brother and then fled. Pillow later surrendered to police about four hours later.
The local sheriff said this is not the first time they've been called to that house.
"Two nights ago we had a call out here. There was a situation where one was threatening the other with a knife. That's just two days ago. Now we're back out here tonight with a shooting," said Sheriff Enoch George. "We did locate a gun in the backyard that we feel like was the weapon used, but we didn't know whether he had another one or not, so we were trying to track him down and make sure the neighbors were safe."
Pillow's brother is hospitalized at Vanderbilt Medical Center in critical condition.
