GALLATIN, TN (WSMV) -
The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation on Tuesday arrested and charged a Sumner County Jail inmate for attempting to have someone killed.
Frederick Lee Dietz, 63, of Hendersonville, TN, who was being held on drug charges, was indicted on one count of solicitation of first-degree murder.
In October 2012, the TBI said information was received that Dietz was attempting to have a witness murdered in connection with his drug case.
Dietz is accused of making comments to associates not to interfere in the murder plot.
The 18th Judicial District Attorney General requested the TBI to investigate shortly after the plot was uncovered.
Dietz continues to be held at the Sumner County Jail on $250,000 bond.
