FRANKLIN, TN (WSMV) -
Franklin leaders are set to vote on a study that could lead to new dams along the Harpeth River.
This comes just months after construction crews removed a dam which allowed the Harpeth to flow freely for the first time in decades.
Now, local leaders are looking for ways to reduce flooding, and a series of dams may be the answer.
On Tuesday night, the Franklin Board of Mayor and Aldermen is expected to vote on a $1.4 million feasibility study.
The cost would be split between Franklin, Brentwood, Williamson County and Metro-Nashville.
The director of the Harpeth River Watershed Association has already expressed concerns about the project.
