Murfreesboro mom accused of using drugs while pregnant

MURFREESBORO, TN (WSMV) -

A Murfreesboro mom was arrested last week after police said she was using various drugs while pregnant.

Vanessa M. Cleveland, 23, gave birth in January, but police said she was taking drugs while she was pregnant.

When the baby was born, nurses grew concerned about the baby's health

Police were called and tests confirmed the baby tested positive for opiates, methadone and other drugs, according to a report in the Murfreesboro Post.

Cleveland has been indicted on multiple charges.
