A lockdown has been lifted at the West Precinct for the Metro Nashville
Police Department after a woman brought inside a suspicious envelope
The lockdown was reported around 2:40 p.m. at the facility on Charlotte Avenue near White Bridge Road. Police said a woman found the envelope containing a suspicious substance in a flower garden and brought it to police.
Hazmat crews and the Nashville Fire Department was called to assist at the scene.
The lockdown was lifted about an hour later, and police said there is no longer a threat.
Officials urged citizens that if they find an item they believe to be suspicious that they are not to touch or move it. Rather, leave it alone and call police.
