MURFREESBORO, TN (WSMV) -
The Rutherford County Budget and Finance Committee voted to put school resource officers in all schools Thursday night.
The Daily News Journal reported the committee voted to add 11 SROs. But to pay for the extra officers, there would need to be an increase in property taxes.
That would result in about an $11 increase in the tax rate on average.
The full commission must approve the plan before it can be enacted. The commission will vote next week.
