CLARKSVILLE, TN (WSMV) -
For the second time this week, Clarksville police officers are being praised for pulling people from burning homes.
Officer Seth Paugh was on patrol around 7:30 a.m. Tuesday when he heard a call over his radio about a fire on Blaine Court.
Paugh went to the house, kicked in the door and battled heavy smoke to save 65-year-old Janie Inman.
Inman is in critical but stable condition at Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville.
Second fire
On Monday, an officer making a traffic stop saw flames shooting from a home on Cave Street.
He called for backup, and he and several officers ran into that burning home and pulled a man out.
They later discovered another man was also in the home at the time. That person did not survive the fire.
