New charter school hopes to open in Williamson County

Posted: Updated:
FRANKLIN, TN (WSMV) -

Mamushi Nature Farm Initiatives has submitted a letter of intent to establish a local charter in Williamson County.

The school would house seventh through 12th grades, and would include both an advanced academics track and agricultural themed track.

Mamushi Nature Farm Initiatives has until April 1 to turn in a full application.

If approved, this would be the first Williamson County charter school.

Charter schools are privately run but receive public money and generally have more flexibility than a traditional public school.
