Two lawmen in Rutherford County have resigned following two separate DUI arrests last weekend.
Sgt. Trent Givens, who was a patrol supervisor, was charged after another deputy allegedly witnessed Givens driving through yards near John Bragg Highway, and the sergeant failed field sobriety tests.
Deputy Ronnie Pugh, a detention officer, was stopped Saturday by a Tennessee Highway Patrol trooper.
He was charged with DUI and possession of a weapon while under the influence of an intoxicant.
Both men were booked into Rutherford County Adult Detention Center and released on bond.
They each resigned their jobs Monday.
