MURFREESBORO, TN (WSMV) -
A father from Columbia was killed in a wreck on the snow-covered Interstate 24 West in Rutherford County on Saturday, according to the Tennessee Highway Patrol.
Investigators said Bryan Delk, 41, was driving a delivery truck near the South Church Street exit when he was unable to stop and rear ended a vehicle driven by Jerry Mason, 24, of Tabor City, NC.
Both men were wearing seat belts, according to state troopers.
Delk was pronounced dead at Middle Tennessee Medical Center, according to investigators.
He worked as a police officer in Columbia for 16 years. His funeral will be held Wednesday at the Heritage Funeral Home in Columbia.
