Snow showers expected early Sunday morning

Posted: Updated:
NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) -

Another round of snow is expected well after midnight and continuing through Sunday morning.

Many areas will receive a dusting to a half inch of accumulation, just enough to make the roads hazardous.

The conditions are also expected to produce dense fog in parts of Lincoln, Moore and Franklin counties. Visibility may be reduced to less than a quarter-mile.   Combined with freezing temperatures, the fog could lead to slick spots on roads - especially on bridges and overpasses.

Additionally, the northern Cumberland Plateau is under a Winter Weather Advisory through noon Sunday. These areas may receive one inch of new accumulation, with areas of highest elevation receiving another two inches of snow accumulation.

Once temperatures rise above freezing Sunday morning, road conditions will dramatically improve.

By Sunday afternoon, skies become mostly sunny and the temperature rises to 45 degrees.
