CLARKSVILLE, TN (WSMV) -
A driver failed to yield the right of way and was hit by a an officer responding to a business alarm, according to police.
Jessica Sheppard, 20, was driving a 2003 Chevy Trailblazer. Sheppard was making a left turn from Ft. Campbell Boulevard to Quin Lane around 2 a.m. and failed to yield to the oncoming patrol car. officer Arthur Bing, driving the patrol car, collided with the passenger side of the trailblazer, according to police.
The 20-year-old passenger in the Trailblazer was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Bing had right arm, hand and wrist pain, but wasn't transported by EMS. Jessica Sheppard was uninjured.
Sheppard had a learner's permit and was cited for failure to yield and a seatbelt violation. Alcohol is not believed to be a factor.
