FORT CAMPBELL, KY (WSMV) -

Fort Campbell welcomed home early a company of soldiers Friday that had deployed to Afghanistan several months ago.

More than 100 members of the Alpha Company and other various elements of 1st Battalion, 187th Infantry Regiment, 3rd Brigade Combat Team "Rakkasans," 101st Airborne Division Air Assault, arrived to a rousing ovation from moms, dads, husbands, wives and children.

They returned after serving five months of a scheduled nine-month deployment in Afghanistan.

Spc. Jesse Weeks' wife, Nicole, is 39-weeks pregnant with the couple's first child. Four generations greeted him as he walked into the passenger terminal.

"I'm glad to be home. I'm excited," Weeks said.

Nicole Weeks said she plans to have labor induced Tuesday unless their baby boy arrives sooner.
