NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) -
Snow and ice closed schools Friday across the region including Metro schools in Nashville, Williamson and Rutherford counties.

About a half-inch of snow fell in Nashville.
Most roads are clear, but drivers should be aware of black ice during their morning commute.
Road crews are salting slick spots, especially around North Nashville and Gallatin areas, according to the Tennessee Department of Transportation.
A few flurries will linger in eastern Middle TN, but expect a mostly sunny and cold day, said 4WARN Meteorologist Paul Heggen.
Weekend Snow?
More wintry weather is possible this weekend. On Saturday, expect late-morning snow showers changing to rain showers in the afternoon. No accumulation, except along the Cumberland Plateau, where another half-inch to 1" of wet snow could accumulate by the afternoon.
A winter weather advisory has been issued until 6 p.m. Saturday for counties along the Cumberland Plateau. The advisory includes Fentress, Jackson, Overton, Pickett, Putnam, Van Buren and White counties.
