Hopkinsville police said a woman and a 15-year-old boy are facing charges in connection to 20 vehicle break-ins near Jennie Stuart Medical Center.

Officers said the juvenile was seen running from the area around 6 a.m. Saturday.

When police stopped the teen, they discovered he was in possession of a stolen credit card from one of the cars, as well as coins.

Officers said the investigation led them to a home on Ferrell Street, where Mary Elizabeth White, 20, was residing. Police discovered several stolen items in plain sight.

When officers attempted to handcuff White, they said she reportedly resisted several times. White was later charged with receiving stolen property, resisting arrest, obstructing government operations and a long list of other offenses.

The juvenile was charged with receiving stolen property.

Police said all the cars that were broken into were not locked, and they advised citizens to remember to secure their vehicles.
