Stalking charges dropped against Maury Co. commissioner

Posted: Updated:
MOUNT PLEASANT, TN (WSMV) -

Stalking charges have been dropped against a county commissioner in Maury County.

A judge determined there wasn't enough evidence to proceed with a case against William Roddy, according to the Columbia Daily Herald.

Police arrested Roddy in January after he was accused of stalking Mount Pleasant police officer Ray Odom.

The officer's wife had reported seeing Roddy parked in their driveway. Odom also said Roddy repeatedly followed him around.

The stalking complaint came after the officer wrote the commissioner a ticket for running a stop sign.
