Henry County Fair claims title of top TN fair

PARIS, TN (WSMV) -

"Champion of Champions" is the newest title for the Henry County Fair.

The Class AA mid-sized fair was selected as the top fair in the state during the Tennessee Association of Fairs convention in Nashville this weekend.

Henry County competed against Gibson County, the Class AAA winner, and Smith County, the Class A winner.

The fair drew in an estimated 40,000 attendees last year over an eight-day period, according to the Paris Post Intelligencer.

Some of the new additions to the August fair included a watermelon eating contest, farm equipment rodeo and a recycling program.
