NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV-AP) -

An Arctic cold front has made it southward, bringing very cold air into Tennessee on Tuesday.

It was 19 degrees in Nashville at 7 a.m. -- the first time it's been below 20 degrees since Feb. 13, 2012, according to 4WARN Meteorologist Paul Heggen.

Nashville won't likely get out of the 20s on Tuesday. The low temperature on Tuesday night will hover around 20 degrees in Davidson County.

Temperatures will rebound to around 40 degrees Wednesday.

By Thursday night and Friday, there's a chance of cold rain in southern parts of the state, but snow and sleet in some northern areas of Tennessee.
