GOODLETTSVILLE, TN (WSMV) -

A local community is rallying around a school psychologist who was injured in a skiing accident in Wyoming.

Lindy Settle Cunningham, a psychologist for Sumner County schools, fell while skiing last week.

Cunningham was airlifted to an Idaho hospital for emergency surgery to repair damaged spinal vertebrae. It is unclear if she will be able to use her arms or legs again.

On Sunday, family and friends gathered in Goodlettsville to show their support.

"We're just trying to do something to let them know that we wish we were there with them and to let others know about this inspirational story about a girl with an unbreakable spirit who's determined that her No. 1 girl is to hold her son again. We're all trying to do what we can to make sure that happens," said friend Jeff Castle.
