NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) -
After months of a lockout, the Nashville Predators will open their season Saturday night at home against the Columbus Blue Jackets.
The Predators begin their 48-game schedule after just one week of training camp.
Although the Preds haven't played a game since May 7, 2012, they return this season with almost their full roster, minus key defenseman Ryan Suter.
With an abbreviated season, the Predators are already playing with the Stanley Cup in mind.
Nashville is looking for their eighth playoff berth in nine seasons.
The puck drops at 7 p.m.
