WINCHESTER, TN (WSMV) -
Many communities have talked a lot in recent weeks about putting more school resource officers on patrol, but investigators in Franklin County said they arrested a man who was pretending to be an SRO.
Charles Daniel Marston is charged with criminal impersonation.
Investigators found the 18-year-old on the campus of Franklin County High School, where he allegedly claimed he would be the school's SRO and had an airsoft gun in his car that was altered to look like a real gun.
Franklin County investigators said Marston went to another school a few days earlier, signed in as a visitor and went to a pep rally he wasn't supposed to attend.
