NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) -
Areas in southern and eastern Middle Tennessee saw measurable snow Thursday, but the storm was short-lived and the snow soon melted in many places.
Winter weather advisories were allowed to expire at 6 p.m. after an upper-level low pressure system slid across the deep south, dumping a mix of sleet and snow in Mississippi, Alabama and Tennessee.
Heavier, thin bands of snow and sleet occurred as well, as the wintry mix caused some slicks spots on elevated surfaces and secondary roads.
Accumulations of 1" to 3" were possible in the higher terrains of the Cumberland Plateau.
Expect sunny skies and high temperatures in the upper 40s Friday.
