Selection Saturday for Metro students

NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) -

Today was Selection Saturday for parents and students in Metro Schools.

Results of the school lottery were released earlier Saturday, informing students if they would be allowed to attend the optional school of their choice.

Families applied back in November and MNPS posted the results on its website, a first for Metro Schools.

MNPS says about half of its families have internet access.

Those who didn't have internet access came to a gathering point on Fairfax Avenue to view the lottery results.
