CLARKSVILLE, TN (WSMV) -
A former Sunday school teacher in Clarksville is accused of sexually assaulting a young child.
Christopher Ryan Crossno, a Sunday school teacher at Spring Creek Baptist Church, was indicted on a charge of aggravated sexual battery in the alleged Nov. 18, 2012, incident involving a 6-year-old girl on church property.
Crossno, 22, was booked at the Montgomery County Jail on $10,000 bond.
"The person arrested was formerly a volunteer worker, however this person has been removed from all volunteer responsibility at Spring Creek Baptist Church," said the Rev. Paul Bunger, senior pastor, in a statement Thursday.
An ex-staff member at the same church pleaded guilty in January 2010 for statutory rape of a 17-year-old girl while working at the church.
Jonathan Tyler Giles, a former youth minister at Spring Creek Baptist Church, was sentenced to serve 240 hours of community service.
