MANCHESTER, TN (WSMV) -
The folks at Bonnaroo have found another way to be friendly to the earth.
This year the music festival in Manchester will be powered by the sun.
Organizers said it's the first time a music festival has used solar panels.
The panels, which are already up and running, will supply about 20 percent of the total electricity needed at Bonnaroo in June.
The project was actually paid for by the fans.
A $1 fee was added to the price of every ticket sold last year.
