Fugitive arrested after charging limo, helicopter rides

Posted: Updated:

Police arrested an accused scam artist after the man asked for permission to land a helicopter on the property at the downtown Hilton Hotel.

Steven Goldmann, 24, is charged with felony theft of property and theft of services in an alleged string of bizarre events since he first arrived in Nashville in November 2012, police said.

Goldmann, who was also considered a fugitive from Montana, allegedly bought goods and services with personal checks from an account he knew did not have available funds and told others that his business, Stepping Stone Holdings, would reimburse them for the bills, police said.

Goldmann is accused of buying $15,000 worth of clothing and other merchandise from a Nashville retailer, chartering 29 limousine rides in less than a month that totaled $12,300 and taking helicopter trips with a Nashville company to Bethpage for dinner as well as Franklin, TN.

Detectives are continuing the investigation, and Goldmann remains at the Metro jail.
