Teen shot outside high school in Memphis

MEMPHIS, TN (WMC/WSMV) -

A young man was shot outside of Hamilton High School in Memphis Tuesday night as a basketball game played on indoors.

According to WMC-TV, several police cars and emergency vehicles could be seen in front of the school.

Memphis City Schools officials said a security officer working the game heard the shots and went to help.

Memphis police say the victim appears to be about 18 years old. He is in critical condition at The MED.

The shooting suspect reportedly ran northbound on Pillow Street.

The basketball game against Melrose High School went on as scheduled, according to a WMC-TV crew on the scene.
