A motorcycle rider died following a serious wreck Monday afternoon near the Franklin city limits.
Police said Kory Dickey, 25, of Franklin, was thrown from his bike in the 4300 block of South Carothers Road at about 1:20 p.m.
An oncoming truck then struck the motorcyclist, police said.
Dickey was transported by LifeFlight helicopter to Vanderbilt University Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.
Investigators believe excessive speed by the motorcycle may have caused the wreck.
