Metro Police Academy welcomes largest recruiting class

NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) -

The Metro Nashville Police Academy today welcomed its largest recruiting class ever.

Chief Steve Anderson and Mayor Karl Dean stopped by the academy to speak with the 106 police officer recruits.

The cadets have just begun a rigorous 22-week training program.

Thursday's welcome ceremony was held at the Metro Nashville Police Department Academy's main building at 2715 Tucker Road.

    Metro police have identified the second victim in an apparent double murder on Hillside Avenue at the Park at Hillside apartments. The woman has been identified as 37-year-old Isha Musa. The male victim, Osmani Munongerwa, 20, was found dead in the upstairs part of the house. Musa was his mother.
