Food for Fines program returns at Nashville library

Posted: Updated:
NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) -

If you have any overdue library fines, now is the time to get your record wiped clean, and all you will need to bring is a can of food.

Nashville Public Library's annual Food for Fines program starts Monday, and each can or package of food you donate will knock $1 off your record of fines.

Food for Fines runs through Jan. 20 at all library branch locations.

The donated food will go to Second Harvest Food Bank, and last year the drive raised more than 50,000 pounds of food.
