Driver identified in fatal Cool Springs wreck

FRANKLIN, TN (WSMV) -

A driver was killed Wednesday afternoon in the Cool Springs area of Williamson County.

The wreck was reported around 3 p.m. at the off-ramp from Interstate 65 North to Cool Springs Boulevard east, Exit 68A.

The victim, Chad Scism, 34, of Thompson's Station, TN, died at the scene.

Police said Scism's vehicle left the road while exiting the off-ramp, overturned and struck a light pole.

Witnesses told investigators that the vehicle was traveling at a high rate of speed before the crash.

Police said Scism was wearing his seatbelt and alcohol is not suspected to be a factor in the crash.
