NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) -
A woman was hurt in a stabbing Wednesday morning in the Bicentennial Mall area near downtown.
The 33-year-old victim said she left Kroger at 8th Avenue North and Monroe Street around 8 a.m. when a stranger approached her and demanded to have sex at knifepoint.
When the woman refused and screamed, the man allegedly stabbed her several times near 7th Avenue North, according to police.
The victim was taken to the hospital for treatment of her injuries.
Police said the attacker is described as a black man, 30 to 40 years old, approximately 5'8" and a stocky build, with no facial hair.
He was last seen wearing a black shirt, dark pants and a white jacket with a logo on the front.
Investigators ask anyone with information on the alleged assailant to call Crime Stoppers at 74-CRIME.
