Metro police have arrested a man they say fired his shotgun outside a nightclub and shattered a glass door early Sunday.
Henok Y. Yohannes, of Antioch, is charged with felony reckless endangerment, according to a Davidson County affidavit.
Officers were called to Club Zion on Wilhagan Road after reports of shots fired. They say Yohannes said he was working as a DJ at the club, and had gone outside to his car to get his shotgun.
He told police he was confronted by someone with a handgun, then fired his weapon several times into the air, including a shot that shattered a glass door at the club. No one was hurt in the incident.
Yohannes told officers that he had the shotgun for protection, and thought it was legal to carry the weapon without a permit.
The club's owner told police he feared for his safety during the incident.
