NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) -
The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory in effect until 3 a.m. Sunday for counties on and near the Cumberland Plateau (on the eastern edge of Middle Tennessee).
Up to 1" of snow accumulation is expected Saturday evening (with areas of highest elevation receiving 1.5").
This includes the counties of Macon, Clay, Pickett, Smith, Jackson, Putnam, Overton, Fentress, De Kalb, White, Cumberland, Warren, Grundy, Van Buren, Cannon and Coffee.
Travel is discouraged in these areas.
