Nashville District Fire Chief Ricky Taylor is retiring.
Taylor is one of the city's most recognizable firefighters. For years, he's been the public information officer, a job that has put him in front of news cameras to answer questions.
Taylor got his start in 1973 with the Brentwood Fire Department. He became a Nashville firefighter the next year. Taylor has worked at night for most of his career, and he says he'll miss it.
Taylor's final shift is this weekend. He plans to travel with his wife early next year.
