NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) -

In the dark corners of the internet, crimes happen every day.

Tonight one of them has police in Nashville investigating and one man arrested.

It started when a computer repairman told Metro police about child pornography discovered on a customer's laptop computer.

Police tracked the device and its owner is Charles Steger.

They later seized the laptop inside his North Nashville home where today no one answered the door.

According to court documents, Steger admitted to searching the web using terms like "Lolita," "pre-teen" and "Asian school girls."

He also admitted to saving files.

So far detectives have found thousands of images of girls scantily clothed and posing in sexual positions.

Also on Steger's computer, detectives said they found pictures he took of children in Nashville walking to schools.

For now, police cannot say which schools or how many pictures he took.

They continue to search through the files tonight as the man accused sits in jail.

For now, Steger faces a single charge of sexual exploitation of a minor. That could change as the investigation continues.

Police said he has been cooperating with investigators.
