A 21-year-old man visiting from South Carolina is accused of robbing a Kroger grocery store Thursday afternoon.

The robbery occurred at a Kroger located at 2284 Murfreesboro Pike.

At about 3:45 p.m., the thief handed a note to a clerk at the customer service counter that said he was armed with a gun, although no weapon was seen.

Demichael Anderson, 21, of South Carolina, was later taken into custody at the Doubletree Lane home of his aunt, with whom he was staying while in Nashville.

Police said Anderson admitted to the robbery during an interview with detectives Friday morning.

He was preparing to return to South Carolina when he was arrested, said investigators.  Anderson is being held on $80,000 bond on charges of aggravated robbery and marijuana possession.
