Goodwill faces busy season at end of the year

Posted: Updated:

You might be done shopping, but are you done giving?

This is the biggest week of the year for Goodwill Industries of Middle Tennessee.

It's the last week of the year to get in any charitable donation tax deductions. It's also a week where a lot of people have a lot of new stuff.

It's the one-two punch that makes a Goodwill a huge success.

On a nasty snowy day, a day where few people feel like running errands, it's a general truth that rings false at Goodwill.

The next six days will be the busiest days of the year for Goodwill.

People like Debbie Laffey combine family lessons with good tax sense.

The small decision to give used toys to Goodwill instead of the trash has a huge impact.

Most don't realize Goodwill's mission is to get people back to work. This year they trained 3,100 Tennesseans straight into jobs.

Talk about win-win, this is the place and apparently a lot already know that.

The easiest way to give is to go to one of the Goodwill Express centers. Just pull your car in the bay and workers unload it and give you a receipt.
