NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) -
A Metro officer was involved in a scuffle with a person in downtown Nashville on Monday night.
Police said a man, later identified as Sigurd Barbee, walked up to an officer on 4th Avenue and Broadway.
Authorities said Barbee tried to take the officer's gun out of the holster, which prompted a struggle between the officer and Barbee.
After a short scuffle, the officer was able to take Barbee into custody.
The defendant is charged with attempted assault on an officer and is in jail.
