Mt. Juliet man charged after officer-involved shooting

MOUNT JULIET, TN (WSMV) -

The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation has arrested a man who was shot by Mt. Juliet police last month.

Officers responded to the Stonegate Mobile home community Dec. 15 after they received a report of a suicidal person.

When police arrived, they found Michael Wayne McNabb, who was armed with a gun.

According to police, an officer opened fire in self-defense when the man pointed his gun at an officer.

The 56 year old was hit once in the chest and rushed to Vanderbilt University Medical Center.

McNabb was charged with aggravated assault and jailed in Wilson County on $75,000 bond.
