CLARKSVILLE, TN (WSMV) -
A family in Montgomery County is suing for $6 million in damages, claiming school officials failed to shield their daughter from bullying.
Willie and Anissa Gold are suing the Clarksville-Montgomery County school board, a bus driver and the former principal at Rossview Middle School, according to the Leaf-Chronicle newspaper.
In the suit, the couple claims their daughters were bullied by two other girls for nearly a year and school officials didn't do enough to stop it.
They say one of their daughters needed medical attention after being punched in the head on the bus and is now in counseling as a result.
Due to the nature of the complaint, a judge must review the complaint before it proceeds to court.
In June, a family sued the school system for $500,000 after their 15-year-old daughter was bullied at Northwest High School.
