Kroger made a huge donation to Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee today.
Food for 184,000 meals were unloaded at the food bank.
This donation was in support of the Feeding Hope Challenge, an in-store fundraising campaign.
Kroger collected donations from Oct. 28 through Nov. 18 in all Middle Tennessee stores.
"Families are in need," said Jaynee Day, Second Harvest Food Bank president/CEO. "Hunger is still very prevalent in this country, unfortunately, and so families are having to make decisions, 'Do I put food on my table or do I pay my rent?'"
Second Harvest is hoping to reach a goal of 10 million meals by the end of the year. So far they have 4.3 million meals, not including the donation given today by Kroger.
