Suspects sought after scamming $13K from elderly

Posted: Updated:
NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) -

Investigators say two men are posing as police officers just to steal from the elderly.

The suspects defrauded at least three elderly women on separate occasions, and in each case they allegedly told the victims that someone was trying to take money from their bank accounts.

Then, the suspects conned the women into withdrawing money with the promise that they would protect it.

So far, the two men are suspected of stealing more than $13,000 from victims ages 77 to 87.

The suspects are described as black men who appear to be in their mid to late 50s. They carry radios and badges and drive a dark blue or black four-door sedan or SUV.

Anyone with information on this case, or recognizing one of the suspects in the attached surveillance photo, is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 74-CRIME.
