New sheriff named in Montgomery County

CLARKSVILLE, TN (WSMV) -

Montgomery County chose a new sheriff Monday night.

The County Commission selected John Fuson from a field of five candidates.

Fuson is a corporal with the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office, and has been with the department since 1998. He's also a county commissioner who represents the Woodlawn area.

Fuson will finish Norman Lewis' term, which ends in 2014. Lewis recently lost his battle with cancer.
