Dozens rallied at War Memorial Plaza Sunday, calling for President Barack Obama to sign an executive order banning discrimination against sexual orientation.
The protestors noted Metro passed a similar measure last year but the state negated it.
So, they said they need federal help to ensure gay and lesbians would not be subject to discrimination by employers.
The demonstrators also want the General Assembly to stop passing what they call discriminatory legislation against the gay community.
